Órgiva Town Hall has done up some of its streets, thanks to the collaboration of the Provincial Council and the Junta de Andalucía.
The said streets, which are in the Barrio Alto part of town, are Calle Barrio Alto, Calle Tinao and Calle Jesús y María.
The original street surface was ripped up and the pipes for sewage, water mains and those carrying electricity cables, replaced before laying a new surface.
Mayor Raúl Orellana said that this work has long been something requested by residents and the results have provided an improvement in the aspect of tourism.
However there is still a section of Calle Barrio Alto that is pending.
The Mayor pointed out that work on the street had to be stopped because of the danger of a derelict house collapsing, which had to be demolished.
