After many days of research, development and sampling the goods, Destilerías y Distribuciones Líber burst onto the scene on May the 28th, 2001. The rest is History!

Why Padul? Well, when you’ve got pure water seeping down from the Sierra Nevada as the snow and ice melts, pouring from natural springs, together with the climate, what better place?

The company now has sixty-two partners making up the solid base of the company that has two lines of business: producing own-brand products such as Embrujo De Granada, Single-Malt Whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, pomace and liqueurs, The second line of products is an ample range of à-la-carte products for its customers.

Now, you can’t knock out whiskey somewhere in Southern Spain without coming to the attention of the press, especially when you start accumulating prizes and awards, which is the case of Liber. After all, they have got to be doing something right if they receive accolades for development & innovation, careful product preparation, logistics and commercial attention, not to mention giving a boost to the local area.

For instance, in the World Whiskey Awards 2023 they obtained four awards for their Pure Malt Whiskey: Gold Medal (13 to 20 years) – Liber Single Malt; Best Spanish Single Malt – Liber Single Malt; Winner in the 13-to-20 year old category – Liber Single Malt and Bronze Medal – Embrujo De Granada.
