Salobreña was full of runners taking part in the XIII Gran Premio de Fondo Villa de Salobreña on Saturday.

The total number of runners for this competition, which is included within the Gran Premio de Fondo de la Diputación de Granada 2023, was 879.

The route started and concluded at the Polideportivo Julio Martín Pérez.

Between this starting and finishing point the runners wound their way through Salobreña, both the urban area and the beach area (Paseo Marítimo and the TH1 on the other side of Restaurante El Peñon).

Although it was a relatively flat route, the unusual heat for April was compounded by the humidity, making them not very pleasant running conditions.

The over-all winner was Ismael Bacas, followed by José Miguel Lizana and Abdou Sonko. The female category was won by Carolina Huertas followed by Eva Segura and Marina Girona in Second and Third place, respectively.
