A parked van caught fire in a parking area of Málaga Airport yesterday afternoon, on the first day of the Easter break.

According to the Málaga Fire Service, they received a call out at 15.44h to tackle the fire outside the Departures Area.

The van had been parked in an authorised area of the airport complex and within seconds the fire had spread to most of the front of the vehicle, causing a column of dense black smoke and small explosions.

The incident did not affect the running of the airport and nobody was hurt.
