Absolutely, I used to play squash to a high standard. I loved the sport. I now realise it was a sport for people of a smaller stature ( I am 6′-4″”) .!! So now I have a bone on bone situation in my left knee. I walk with the aid of a stick. I am 74 yrs young and am looking for a partner. I am told I am good looking but who is going to be attracted by a guy with a walking stick. Do I wish I had never played squash ….no, I really enjoyed winning.
Kite surfing, parascending, rock climbing, horse riding and cycling…. Sadly there will always be an element of bad luck, Like in rugby; you get severe neck injuries.
Yes, it’s mostly just bad luck, but without these pastimes, what a boring life we would lead. With no guarantee of old age. Let’s enjoy as safely as we can, with training. Life!
