An officer belonging to the Policía Nacional barricaded himself in his own home and threatening to blow the house up if the police outside decided to rush him.
This took place on the Camino de Albarrate within the municipality of Atarfe, starting Wednesday night before giving himself up at 12.20h yesterday. He was taken to police holding cells in the city of Granada.
The officer, who had been off sick for depression, gave himself up after drawn out negotiations, walking out of the dwelling and up to the waiting officers. The Commander of the National Police HQ in Granada took part in the negotiations to get him to come out.
The Bomb Disposal Squad searched the cortijo afterwards to make sure that there was no explosive device there.
