La Herradura will be celebrating Carnival from the 17th to the 19th of this month, according to the First Councillor for the village, Daniel Barbero.
During these three days, he explained, there will be parades, fancy-dress competitions, workshops, fiestas and shows; a celebration like those of before the pandemic.
He said that the AMPA (Parents’ Association) belonging to Colegio Las Gaviotas will be cooperating, providing elements within the street parade and workshops.
Starting on the 17th, there will be a Carnaval Infantil, starting at 16.30h with a street parade, leaving the football ground, Las Tejas, heading for the Centro Cívico courtyard, where the fancy-dress competition will be held. There will also be workshops set up there with kiddies in mind. There will also be a bar for the parents.
On Saturday the 18th, the Carnaval de Adultos will take place with a similar programme: the street parade will leave at 21.00h from the football ground and head for the Centro Cívico again. The fancy-dress competition will be accompanied by music supplied by DJ Moisés Franco (who has just won an award from an international wedding website).
Things will wrap up on Sunday with a performance by the Chirigota de Cádiz chirigota group, Los ya son Five de Cai. The concert starts at 19.00h and has an entrance fee of just two euros.
