The Mayor of Motril has remarked on the generosity of Motrileños concerning depositing plastic bottle tops in the heart containers.

She was accompanied by the Chairman of the Fundación Ecoruycan, José Andrés Ruiz Cañas, standing in front of one of the specialised collection containers.

They both noted that the amount of bottle tops deposited is growing in numbers, meaning that more and more locals have taken to using them.

In fact, she says that she receives requests from citizens for more such containers and closer to the streets on which they live.

“Very soon we shall place specialised containers in such barrios as Las Angustias or Santa Adela,” she promised, in answer to these requests.

José Andrés Ruiz Cañas said, “on this occasion, we present a new Casa de Taponcín, which instead of being in a heart shape, it is a container in which used batteries can also be deposited.”

This container is located near Hospital Santa  Ana, whilst the existing ones can be  found in the Port, on Paseo de las Explanadas, Calle Ancha, Rambla de Capuchinos, Plaza de la Aurora, Puntalón, Plaza Javier de Burgos and near the bus station.
