If you have walked past the Town Hall in Almuñécar you will have noticed that the facade is festooned with brightly painted satellite dishes...

Do not adjust your eyeballs because it is not an illusion but rather the III Exposición de Antenas Parabólicas painted by local artists and organised by the Asociación Arte-Sur.

Now, if you haven’t seen this display yet, don’t worry because it is on show during the whole month.

The Chairman of the art association, Francisco Ariza explained that the exhibition comprises of 27, painted, parabolic dishes, with a diameter of between 50 and 120 centimetres. Sr. Ariza has one of his up there, too.

The Councillor for Culture offered the association this opportunity three years ago, but in the meantime we have had the Covid interlude.

People seem to like it, that’s for sure and no doubt the Mayor has better TV reception in his office now.
