Driving down the westbound ramp at the Salobreña junction of the N-340 yesterday, it was impossible to miss what is going on in the Sports Pavilion.
The stage, gantries and lighting towers were going up for the Tropicalia Summer Music Fest, which starts today with the opening concert starring Rozalén. The festival will continue until its last day on the 14th of August with performances during these days by Taburete, Antonio Orozco, 091 and Vanesa Martín.
Festival organiser, Javier Vázquez, explained that almost all the concerts will begin at 22.00h, although the gates will open from 20.00h.
After the performances have concluded, the venue will remain open with music supplied by DJs.
Javier Vázquez estimates (judging by ticket sales so far) there will be between 2,000 and 3,000 spectators each evening. Tickets are available both at the door as well as online via www.tropicaliasummer.com.
