A shoot out took place in the parking area of Rules Dam yesterday evening just before 19.00h.
The exchange of gun fire resulted in a death and another person being wounded. The wounded person is a 41-year-old Bosnian man, who is being treated in the ICU of the Hospital de Traumatología in Granada for a stomach wound. An air ambulance (helicopter) was used to take him to Granada
The other victim is a Serbian man who died at the scene of the shooting, whose body has since been taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal (IML) in Granada awaiting an autopsy.
The Guardia Civil are investigating the incident and suspect that drug trafficking is behind the confrontation. The culprits of the double shooting abandoned the scene of the crime before the emergency services arrived. However, the only eyewitness to the crime is intubated in the ICU and under sedation, thus unavailable for questioning.
