Salobreña Town Hall and the Asociación Granadown (Down’s Syndrome) have signed an accord to renew the annual arrangement for providing jobs in municipal offices.
This way people with Down’s Syndrome can carry out work experience over a period of six months with an adapted working day. These workers will receive a grant each month by way of salary.
They will also have a work supervisor who will prepare each one for the tasks their post requires. This supervisor will also write up an evaluation report at the end of the work-experience period.
The accord was signed by the Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino and the Chairman of the Síndrome de Down de Granada, Francisco Hidalgo.
Sr. Hidalgo explained that the course is designed to give each person “a maximum autonomy” possible for their full, social integration, thus a greater independence that will permit a better quality of life.
