There was a nasty accident in Los Guájares a couple of days ago when a white van left the road and tumbled down a barranco.

The accident took place on the GR-4300 in Guájar Fondón on Thurday the 26th and resulted in the vehicle rolling five metres down a barranco, ending up on its side with the female driver trapped inside.

The Motril fire service was needed to cut the roof off the small van in order to get her out and up to a waiting ambulance.

She was taken to the Hospital Traumatología (Virgen de las Nieves) in Granada.
