One reputable weather-forecast webpage is warning that the calima could be back on Thursday. However, last time they put out a warning, nothing came of it.
So, despite fearing that we could be crying wolf again, we pass on the weather warning which you can view on www.tiempo.com.
“There is calima forecast accompanying showers on Thursday, coming in through the south of the peninsular and the Balearics, according to our weather forecast models,” explained meteorologist, José Miguel Viñas, who works on Tiempo.com
He did say, however, it would be not so pronounced as the calima experienced in March.
“In Eastern Andalucia, especially in mountainous areas, it can still be hot, but there will be light rain, which means that this rainfall could be accompanied by dust (muddy raindrops)” he said, adding, “Calima will begin arriving Wednesday evening but Thursday will be when the concentration will be heaviest.”
He concluded by saying that from Friday on, the amount of dust in the atmosphere will drop off but he reassured that the sky will not be as red as it was in March.
Editorial note: our website uses eltiempo.es, which also comes in English, rather than tiempo.com. Furthermore, this forecast is what is expected in parts of Andalucía, including the province of Granada, rather than specifically the Costa Tropical, so don’t panic.
