The Agencia Española de Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición has published two health alerts concerning certain products.
One was over a well known brand of chocolate spread (this alert went out a couple of days ago) and other concerns nuts (frutos secos) sold in supermarkets.
The AESAN had received a report from the European, Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), which in turn had been advised by the Polish health authorities.
The problem appears to have been that milk was included in the product, which was not reflected on the information section of the product label; i.e., “a mixture of roasted pecans, roasted and salted almonds and sweetened, dried cranberries in dark chocolate,” sold under the brand name Gourmet Finest Cuisine.
The manufacturer had issued a communiqué about it and informed the product receivers.
The alert over a chocolate spread corresponds to two such products Melk, marketed by Jumbo and Puur, also marketed by Jumbo. The problem is that they have almond in them, again not mentioned on the label.
