The American publication, Newsweek, publishes a list every year with the best hospitals, both private and public, in the world.
The first places in the 250-hospital list are occupied by American hospitals with the first Spanish one appearing in the 52nd slot, which is Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid.
It is followed by Hospital Clínic in Barcelona (63rd) the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, which is also in Madrid (66th).
The news magazine also makes national lists for each country with representation amongst the 250 and among the Spanish list are Andalusia ones: Virgen del Rocío in Sevilla, (11th) Reina Sofía in Córdoba (22nd) and our very own Virgen de las Nieves in Granada (28th).
We have every reason to feel proud of the incredible work done by our hospitals, especially during the pandemic. Anybody who has undergone a medical intervention here will confirm just how good the Andalusian Health System (SAS) is when in the competent hands of Spanish surgeons.
