There was a fire in a flat last night in Torrenueva Costas and a middle-age man had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The incident occurred a little before 22.00h resulting in the 57-year man being taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril. At the scene were the Motril fire service, the Policía Local and an ambulance.

First reports speak of the fire beginning in the bathroom, causing a lot of smoke and flames. There is no information of where the dwelling was nor on the amount of damage.

Neither is it known whether the man lived alone or whether there were other occupants.

On a different subject, there was also a vega fire on the Motril side of Río Guadalfeo which broke out about the same time – 90kph gusts didn’t help. Foul play is suspected… again.
