Body of Missing Man Found

Guardia Civil have located the body of a man yesterday morning who went missing in Lanjarón last weekend.

GRA ALP KLP05 Orgiva-V:Benaudalla RoadThe victim, 44-year-old, Manuel Díaz Angulo, who was born in Jerez de la Frontera, had travelled to Lanjarón in his white, Citröen C3 to spend a few days there.

On Saturday the 12th he had left the hotel where he was staying and set off in his car and was not seen again until his body was found. All his possessions were still in his room.

One of his brothers reported him missing to the Guardia Civil on the day following his disappearance, as none of the family had been able to raise him on his phone.

His car was found near kilometre point five on the road from Órgiva down to Vélez de Benaualla, near the Rules Reservoir. It had left the road and had plunged down a steep hillside above the reservoir. His body was found nearby.

Until the results of the autopsy are complete, the cause of death is not known but all indications point to a road accident.
