Officers from the Policía Nacional and the Catalan regional police, Mossos d’Esquadra, investigated and clarified 422 cases of train vandalism.

A total of 25 people from Cataluña, Madrid, Fuenlabrada, Burgos, León, Valencia, La Coruña y Orihuela were arrested during 2020 and 2021. Five of them in Cataluña and the other 20 suspects in the rest of the above-mentioned towns and cities.

The cost of the damage caused in these 422 cases to rail and metro rolling stock reaches 1,670,000 euros. As for damage, it ranges from grafitti to breakages.

The previous police operations during 2019 resulted n 103 arrests, the amount of damage was calculated at 22-million euros, so things appear to be improving.
