Spanish law courts have given the go-ahead for a Colombian drug baron, who had been living in Motril, to be extradited to Brazil.
The arrest took place in November 2020 and he was sent to jail pending a decision on extradition to be taken.
The Brazilian authorities want him for heading a criminal organisation that introduced 45 tonnes of cocaine into Europe between 2017 and 2019.
The prisoner, J.S.G., was arrested on Calle Santa Lucía (Barrio Las Angustias) in Motril by officers sent down from Madrid. He was immediately taken back there and has been held in custody since then.
