There's not much to report on this Sunday night for readers to find here on Monday morning, so it's a good chance to explain something about our article format.
Firstly, the space that the google-analytics, search engines will look for has a maximum of 160 characters, so you have to get as much information in as possible within this space limitation.
Even so, we aim to tell you where the story is taking place, amongst other things, within that space (it’s the bold paragraph at the top and the info on the landing page under the photo).
The good news is that on each and every one of the 13,134 articles that we have published to date, there is a space at the bottom of the article within brackets that gives you the municipality, local area (comarca), province and region, in that order. For example, (News: Almunecar, Costa Tropical, Granada, Andalucia).
So if we do miss out the name of where something has happened in the opening paragraph, you will find it at the bottom of the article.
Also, we indicate what sort of article it is: if it is just reporting then it begins with just (News:…) but if it is cultural or entertainment then it starts (News/Entertainment:…). If the post is house news, like this one, the information inside the brackets will just be (News/House News)
I made the decision to drop the four-o’clock article on the Sundays, so that we can have the morning off before preparing the following day’s articles in the evening to go up in the morning.
Weekdays will have two morning and one afternoon article, as always, however. (Hence the accompanying photo).
Lastly, you won’t find articles in the paper edition of the Gazette on this website, so when you pick up the paper edition, you won’t have to worry about coming across articles that you have already read on online – they are two very separate news platforms. Obviously, the bulk of the news is here on the site, as it happens, whereas the paper editions have news from the last week of the month plus many features, such as the Danish, French, Rucker Report, Doctor and Legal columns etc..
That’s all for now 😉
