A total of 18 vehicles went up in flames in Torrox Tuesday night in a car park within the municipality of Torrox, over in the Axarquía.
The fire, located in the Concordia public-parking facility, was reported to the emergency call centre, 112, at 22.53h. They in turn called out the Policía Local, Guardia Civil and the fire service.
A spokesperson for the Bomberos del Consorcio Provincial de Málaga confirmed that 18 vehicles had been affected, six of which were totally consumed by the fire. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
The Guardia Civil have began investigating the fire to determine whether it was an act of arson or was accidental, provoked by a short circuit in a parked car.
