The Salobreña fiestas, Virgen del Rosario, commence today with a street procession of cabezudos (bigheads), starting at 18.00h at the Casa de la Cultura.
Actually, the fiestas began yesterday with a special high tea for the elderly in the Plaza del Museo at five o’clock, but today’s procession is the first street activity.
Together with the traditional cabezudos, the parade will also have the theme of Rey León (Lion King), organised by the ASOF association. Todays street parades will be the first one since the pandemic began.
After the parade leaves the Casa de la Cultura it will make its way along the old beach road and Calle García Lorca, arriving at the Pontanilla. From there it will go along Calle Cochera, heading for the Plaza del Museo.
