No, this is not about political skuldugery; there're real goal posts within Las Tejas football ground in La Herradura.
What has happened is that the goal structures have been removed and replaced, explained the First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya.
The Servicio de Mantenimiento department for La Herradura replaced 60 sq/m of net and the posts and bars that keep them in place at the southern end of the football ground.
It was the passage of time rather than being worn out from goals that necessitated this replacement work, otherwise the La Herradura team would be competing against Barça and Real Madrid by now.
Actually, being close to that big wet blob known as the Mediterranean contributed to the deterioration – anybody who has a beachfront property can confirm this.
