The Guardia Civil in Almuñécar have recoved two bikes and other stolen items that had been removed from somebody's garage.
Consequently, they are now investigating a 30-year-old suspect who has a criminal record, who not only allegedly broke into the garage to remove the said bikes, but also made off with two crash helmets, a full, 25-litre, petrol container, several loudspeakers and a disc cutter.
The break in took place on the 4th of September. The thief tried to force the garage door open but was unable so he broke one of the windows set in the door and was then able to open the door from inside.
First the thief made away with one of the bikes and then came back for the other, before finally returning to remove the last of the stolen items.
Thanks to the fact that the owner of the garage had installed a security camera, upon examination of the images recorded the police immediately recognised the thief; somebody whom they had arrested in July for drug peddling in the night-life area of Almuñécar.
The police pulled him in for questioning and upon being confronted with the evidence he admitted to being the culprit and agreed to return all the stolen items.
