Actress Sheridan Smith is part of the cast filming in Nerja this coming week for episodes of No Return; a family goes into turmoil when teen son is arrested on holiday.
The pandemic obviously put paid to the arrival of film crews doing location shots in Nerja but now things are starting to pick up again for this kind of activity.
In this case, it appears that a Nerja beach and streets have been chosen to represent such places in Turkey, which is where the 4-part, TV series, No Return is set.
The series is producced jointly by Red Production Company and the Spanish one, Bambú Producciones. The whole film unit consists of 160 people, plus 500 extras that were interviewed back in August in the José Bobadilla Sports Pavilion.
Filming has been taking place on Playa Calahonda but other filming locations in Nerja are one of the chiringuitos and several streets.
To quote from the Royal Television Society: “No Return follows Kathy (Sheridan Smith), her husband Martin (Michael Jibson), their son Noah (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) and younger daughter Jessica (Lily Sutcliffe), on an idyllic all-inclusive luxury holiday in Turkey.
Kathy and Martin are ready to use the holiday to spend much needed time together to reconnect, but they soon become involved in a living nightmare.
When Noah accepts a seemingly innocent beach party invitation from fellow holidaymaker Rosie (Jodie Campbell), who is staying at the same hotel, everyone’s lives begin to fall apart.
Kathy and Martin are left to fight for their son’s freedom in what has turned into the holiday from hell.”
