Officers belonging to the Policía Nacional in Motril have arrested an 18-year-old Croatian woman for allegedly breaking into a dwelling there.
The suspect was discovered by the owners of the dwelling actually inside their home so they immediately phoned the police. The arrested woman was in the company of two other women, who managed to escape.
When the Croatian woman was searched, they found a gold ring on her and the police are investigating where it might have come from.
The three woman upon realising that they had been rumbled by the owner, made a bolt for it but the victim managed to get hold of the youngest one and retain her until the police arrived.
The door hadn’t been forced and the owner admitted that she had popped out and left the door on the latch without locking it.
According to the owner, several pieces of jewellery were missing and a prestigeous make of wrist watch, together with her gold wedding ring. None of these items were found on the arrested woman, except for the gold ring, which did not belong to the victim.
