A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found yesterday on agricultural land within the municipality of Motril.

The area is at the entrance to Motril known as Puchilla or the Candelón, which is the road from the N-340 going past Al Campo (see bottom left of photo) to the top of the Avenida de Andalucia.

The body had lain for several days, given its state, and for obvious reasons, until an autopsy is carried out, the cause of death will remain unknown.

However, the body appears to be the remains of a British male aged 59 years old; a known homeless person. In fact, it was only recently that the police had assisted the man when taken ill and brought him to Hospital Santa Ana.
