The Policía Nacional in Granada arrested one of their own officers, as well as a taxi driver and a brothel madam on charges of sexual exploitation.
All told five people were arrested after the owner of the house on Calle Zamora being used as a brothel and the madam’s Ex, were also detained.
As for the victims, four Colombian women (who were in Spain illegally) they were not arrested but were fined for entering the country illegally instead.
The police searched a house in Zaidin and three flats in Armilla, Churriana de la Vega and Cúllar Vega and came up with documents and a small amount of cocaine.
The owners of the brothel are all Colombians, too, and deceived girls from poor districts of Medellín in Colombia into coming to Spain with false promises of work… not of the horizontal kind, of course. They had been told that they would be making lots of money… but didn’t specify how.
The girls both worked in the brothel and also made house calls. The arrested taxi driver had the task of ferrying them to clients’ homes or hotel rooms
As for the arrested policeman, it is not clear what his roll was but it probably involved his inside knowledge of police methods concerning brothels and foreigners here illegally.
