Normally a headline like this one would have been bad news when we were locked into our municipalities, but this time it is most certainly good news.
It’s good news because the present mobility arrangements will not be reduced for New Year’s Eve, despite an increase in contagion figures elsewhere in the country.
The PM, speaking from the Palacio de San Telmo de Sevilla (regional parliament building) didn’t need to meet with the Committee of Medical Experts to come to this decision before announcing that there would be no changes “at least during this week.”
“Fortunately, and thanks to the efforts and contributions from everybody, we have arrived at the Christmas period with the contagion level reasonably low and with the situation in hospitals also being very reasonable,” commented, Sr. Juanma Moreno.
Editorial comment: we say “good news” but it would have been better if there had not been any Christmas concessions because we’re going to be facing a third wave come the new year. In fact, even if celebrating Christmas is considered “good for moral,” the New Year’s celebrations traditionally have little to do with family reunions and everything to do with going out drinking until sunrise… We really don’t need that sort of things at this stage.
