Salobreña Town Hall is working in collaborations with the prison service so that inmates can carry out community work in the municipality.

So far, the prisoners who are taking part in this penitentiary schemes in Salobreña, will have their sentence reduced, as well as benefit Salobreña parks and gardens in the task of gardening, maintenance and litter collection, etc.

Walls and steps are receiving a lick of whitewash or paint, like the steps in the Paseo de Las Flores, for example. Public gardens and fish ponds (in the parks) are also receiving a bit of TLC.

Another area is below the Mirador next to the radio-station building; i.e., the rock face which has a lot of litter, as well as the Raja and the Gambullón springs.
