Only 50% of those selected for a PCR in Almuñécar and La Herradura turned up, but on a positive note, only one positive reading was found.

When it was announced that 800 people would be selected and notified by SMS, there were those that complained that this number was insufficient… yet during these three days that the six teams from the Junta were carrying out the PCRs, only around 400 turned up for the test, because it was voluntary and no obligation was imposed.

The only case detected amongst those 400-odd people was an asymptomatic case; i.e., the person had no idea that he had the virus because he had suffered no symptoms at all.
