The waiting list for none-life-threatening operations is getting longer thanks to the Covid, so when somebody jumps the queue, there can be come backs.

This is the case where a member of a hospital medical staff helped a friend to jump the queue and get an earlier date for his MRI. Consequently it has gone to caught and there is hell to pay.

The Provincial Public Prosecutor is recommending four years, nine months in jail for the patient and two years for the member of the hospital staff, whom the patient convince to fiddle the list.

So what exactly happened? The waiting-list tampering took place in 2017 and was reported immediately and this year a  judge has considered that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute. The defendants’ lawyers lodged an appeal to have the case thrown out but without success.
