The Almuñécar Club de Pesca Costa Tropical won the Spanish championships for Pesca desde Kayak in Valencia. This is the third year that the competition has been held in the Real Club Náutico in the city of Valencia.

The kayak-fishing team, which is made up of Arsenio J. Frías Hidalgo, Álvaro Jiménez Pérez, Manuel Moreno Fernández and Jesús Morales González, won 8,595 points for the catches.

Third time lucky, considers Jesús Morales who received the trophy in the name of the team. Two years ago they came very close (only 120g difference) to First Place in Melilla. Last year the difference between the winning team and the Almuñécar one was smaller; a little under 100g.

This year, Second Place went to another team from Andalucia, Afipeska (Cádiz) and Third Place to a team from Murcia, Pesca Sport Kayak.

The Almuñécar team had earnt their place in the national championships after having won the regional cup last year.
