Workmen are working on improvements to the eastern access of Motril, providing more lanes for the traffic coming off the A-7.
The Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro, visited the works, describing them as “giving Motril decent access in its drive to become an important town of reference not only on the Costa Tropical but also along the Mediterranean coast.”
The Councillor for Public Works, Nicolás Navarro, says that the project includes laying infrastructure for two shopping areas. He says that this radical transformation along the Camino de las Ventillas will turn it into one of the main entry points for the town.
The new layout will turn the existing two-lane road into a four-lane one; two in either direction, separated by a central island with wide garden areas, a bicycle lane and an area adapted for those with mobility problems. The thoroughfare will also have over 50 lampposts and palm trees, giving the town an air of modernity.
