The Aquatropic water park in Almuñécar has decided to bring forward its end of season to this Sunday, instead of early September. The water park in Cenes de la Vega (Granada), has already closed until next year on the 23rd of August.
Aquatropic manager, Vicente Barbero, said that this summer has been unlike any of the other 22 years that the park has been running. He pointed out that users had complied without problem to the pandemic restrictions conerning safety distancing and other health measures.
Aquatropic expected to only cover running costs this year and like other water parks of the same characteristics, it has been operating at between 30% and 35% of its normal capacity. Considering that at the beginning of summer the management was not sure whether they could even operate this year, things have turned out better than expected.
