The maritime branch of the Guardia Civil will be carrying out inspections of all kinds of leisure craft off the beaches, checking their paperwork.

Police operation, Verano 2020, won’t only be making sure that the said leisure craft are seaworthy and posses if applicable licences and insurance policies, but the police will also be keeping a eye on their usage; i.e. speed and proximity to the beaches where bathers are swimming.

Business that hire out such craft will also be receiving a visit from the Guardia Civil.

Jet skis, whether privately owned or hired out, must have the corresponding public-liability insurance. People using them must be adult (18 or over) or 16 if they have written permission from their parents.
