Within 24 hours of the Almuñécar fire service receiving their new fire engine they were out testing its extending ladder with its impressive reach.
The municipal fire service badly needed a vehicle that had a ladder that reached the higher floors on its tallest buildings. Until now, they had needed to request Motril’s one for high-rise fires.
The new vehicle, which cost 525,000 euros, will give fire personnel access to buildings up to twelve floors, which is good news for those in flats at the top of Las Góndolas, Chinasol and Costa Banana, thanks to its 37 metre reach.
Of course, the vehicle also comes packed with all kinds of equipment for a six-man crew such as respirators, for example.
