A 41-year-old man was arrested by the Guardia Civil, accused of scaling the facade of an aparment block to gain entry to a flat, making off with several valuables.
The alleged cat burglar removed three gold bracelets and a wristwatch with a total value of 2,500 euros from the victim’s flat in Salobreña.
The burglary, which took place on the 17th of last month, was recorded on several security cameras inside the flat, footage from which was handed over to the Salobreña Guardia Civil post as evidence.
The arrested man can be seen wandering from room to room with socks on his hands to hide his finger prints.
The police spent several weeks trying to locate the suspect and only finally ran him to ground on the 16th of June and arrested him. They are still trying to track down the stolen items, however.
