The Junta de Andalucía has activated the control on access to the La Herradura nudist beach, Playa Cantarriján and initiated the shuttle-bus service.
As of today, Cantarriján-beach users can either walk the distance between the beach and the N-340 or they can use the shuttle-bus service – whereas some beachgoers might be keen to stride down, they might not be so enthusiastic about the uphill slog to where they parked the car.
The bus transported 38,305 people down to the beach and back last year, so it can’t be that bad an option, can it?
There is room for 159 vehicles in the parking areas next to the main road. There are two separate parking areas; one next to the bus stop with room for 75 vehicles and the other one with room for 82, including two parking spots for those with mobility problems, as well as space for 16 motorbikes.
The route is covered by two buses (19 and 28 seats) from Monday to Thursday, with about 10 to 15 minutes from one bus arriving and the next. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays a third bus with 15 seats joins the other two.
