A grass fire near Urbanización Delta (above Taramay) near the N-345 had the Almuñécar fire service out during the early afternoon of the 8th.

The fire was just above the main road (just visible in the top, right-hand corner of the accompanying photo) on wild-grass-covered bancales (land terraces) near houses on this urbanización.

No damage was done to private property, other than to black-plastic, irrigation pipes, thanks to the direction of the wind.

This was the second call out for a fire within 24 hours; there was also one in the Pago Los Martínez that also required the participation of INFOCA air units which prevented it from reaching nearby cortijos.
