There has been a sizeable landslide affecting the A-7 autovia near the 354 Exit Junction for Castell de Ferro today.
The earth movement produced a dangerous fissure in the tarmac of nearby lanes running through an area known as El Espinar, which lies on the municipal borders between Lújar and Gualchos/Castell.
This has caused consternation amongst greenhouse farmers worried that their structures might be damaged, especially if it continues to rain in the next few days.
The Guardia Civil have closed these access lands to the greenhouses as in some places a step of about one metre has appeared. The Municipal Surveyor has been visiting the area to find out what has caused the landslip.
