Close Almuñécar Access?

ALM Taramay Control Point 02The PSOE opposition party in Almuñécar has asked the Mayor, Sra. Trinidad, to close the access points to the municipality to stop arrivals over Semana Santa.

The reason why is because it has become apparent that flats that stand empty during the winter are filling up because of Semana Santa.

This is a sure sign that many residents of Granada and Madrid have managed to slip into Almuñécar and La Herradura for this festive period.

LHR Police Control Point 02For this reason the PSOE is asking the Mayor of Almuñécar to do the same as the Mayor of Salobreña did – close most of the entry points and put controls on the entry points remaining open.

For this reason, local PSOE leader, Rocío Palacios, calls upon second-home owners to remain in their habitual place of residence, both to ensure their own health and by doing so avoid jeopardising the health of those living in Almuñécar and La Herradura.

Well, you can inform us of the address and we will pass it on to the Councillor for Citizen Safety, Paco Robles.

Are there any official channels to report newly arrived holidaymakers? It not only risks spreading the virus but also puts pressure on the stock of essentials in the local shops meant for those of us who are residents here.
