Just about every business was hit for six by the lock down but for some the consequences are longer lasting: the Sierra Nevada ski station, for instance.
Despite having had a brilliant start to the ski season with plentiful snow, on the 14th of March the ski station closed down; not for the duration of the Lock Down, but for what was left of the season.
This week has seen such copious amounts of snow falling that their snow ploughs were needed to clear the A-395, which leads up to the ski station.
The road clearing work was along the access for Ubanización de Pradollano as well as the junction for the Hoya de la Mora area, leading to the upper part of the urbanización.
On the night when even the Almijarra mountains down on the coast were snow covered (Wednesday, Sierra Nevada had 40cm of snow from 2,200 metre upwards. However some snow fell as low down as 1,800 metres covering the El Purche, Los Alayos and El Cerro Huenes areas.
