The Almuñécar branch of the PSOE (socialists) has lodged a motion for the next Plenary Meeting for a T.I.O in La Herradura.

This political group considers that the Tourist Information Office in the municipal market is inadequate given the touristic value of the village; hence the need for a new one.

Party leader, Rocío Palacios, says that it is incomprehensible that La Herradura doesn’t have a suitable office or that the present one isn’t open all year round, which will be a prime necessity for a new one.

She says that the present one is “hidden away,” and that the new one should be in the Plazoleta del Mercado Municipal, right on the Paseo Andrés Segovia. The staff should be fully trained and able to converse in several languages and provide information about the local gastronomy and leisure facilities, amongst other things.
