The Motril Town Hall plans to bring the fairground closer to Motrileños by building one closer to the town centre.

The Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro has instructed the Urban Planning Department to find plots of land where the fairground could be relocated.

She hopes that the new fairground will be available for the summer fair, etc, within two years. In other words, residents and visitors alike will be able to use it in summer 2021.

But the Mayor has other plans too, which consist of a new park somewhere along the port road on the right-hand side. The Town Hall wants it somewhere equidistant between the beach and the town centre; far enough to get away from the noise of the budding city but near enough to be handily close.

The idea is to do away with the feria nocturna which is held in the Cortijo del Conde because locals are spitting feathers over the noise.
