Roadworks continue in the old town of Salobreña, this time affecting Calle Cartero Manuel Montilla, starting from today. Consequently, you will find the road closed to traffic, unless you are a resident of the said street.
The Mancomunidad is funding the renovation of the sewage and mains pipes replacement, whilst laying a separate rain-drainage system. Once that is done, the road surfae will be paved with square cobblestones.
The said work will also affect Plaza del Antiguo Mercado up to Calle del Rosario.
The second phase will commence after Christmas and will start on Calle del Rosario moving along to Fábrica Nueva, through to where it ends.
The Mayor has sent a letter to residents of the affected areas, detailing what the roadwork will entail, whilst apologising for any inconveniences in advance.
Furthermore, she has pointed out that while as for the moment this work will not affect public transport, when it becomes necessary the minibus will be put back into use.
