Salobreña is going to hold a Campeonato de España de Strongman where participants have to tow a lorry and lift up a car.
It’s just around the corner on the 21st of this month, starting at 17.30h at the football ground.
They hope to count on at least seven participants from all over Spain, amongst them the World Champion in Firemen Trials, all of whom must be in the 105-kg Category.
Another competitor is the local boxer and Andalusian Kickboxing Champion, Juan Figueroa.
There will be seven trials and he who obtains the best all-round score will take the title of El Hombre Más Fuerte de España.
The trials consist of towing a 20-tonne lorry and another one of hauling a 10-tonne lorry sitting down. The participants will have to lift a car of between 1.2 and 1.5 tonnes. They will have to be able to lift sacks of between 130 and 150 kilos and tyres weighing 370, 410 and 440 kilos… piece of piss!
Oh, there is one other trial whereby the competitors will have to hold out straight a sword weighing 30 kilos as long as possible.
As for spectators, the entrance fee is four euros for adults and two euros for kids, which can be bought at the door.
