Motril Port Open Day

MOT Corbeta Infanta Cristina P77Motril Port will have its Open Day on the 13th of this month including a chance to go aboard a Spanish Navy corvette.

The Corbeta (P77) Infanta Cristina might be a ship of nearly 40 years but it has been busy on many anti-pirate operations in Somali waters.

The ship will be open to visitors from 10.00h until 18.30h.

But it’s really a double treat as visitors will also have a chance to visit the Clara Campoamor, one of the largest ships belonging to the Maritime Rescue Service, along with specialised Guardia Civil units.

Obviously, you will also have a chance to have a good look around the port with its normally restricted areas, so there’s a treat there, too.

There are also activities planned, such as a fishing competition and a 5-aside football tournament.

But it doesn’t end there because there also will be  vintage vehicles parked up to see, belonging to the 20s, 40s 50s and 60s.

If you don’t want to take your car all the way down there – you can’t park inside the port for security reasons – the Town Hall has arranged buses between the port and the Paseo de las Explanadas.

A full and interesting day!
