A man, who is no stranger to the Guardia Civil, was arrested in Almuñécar, suspected of carrying out a robbery in a bar in town.
The 47-year-old man, with a string of past offences, was detained in connection with an incident on the 6th at 15.30h. Apparently, the bar owner had taken advantage of the fact that there was nobody in the bar at that moment to use a set of steps to water her plants.
The suspect allegedly kicked the steps out from under her causing her to fall to the floor. Whilst she was struggling to get up he ran over to the till, grabbed the cash and a pair of sunglasses that were lying next to it.
By this time the woman was back on her feet so he pushed her over again as he ran out of the bar, according to the police report.
The woman had to be attended to at the medical centre for a bruised wrist as consequence of her fall from the steps. In the meantime, the Guardia Civil had no trouble tracking him down and arresting him – this was his third arrest for this kind of offence.
